Terms of service

Plain-language terms for using Whetstone. The short version: we’re an independent study tool, we never guarantee exam outcomes, and we never touch recalled exam content — and neither may you.

Effective July 16, 2026

1Who we are, and what you’re agreeing to

Whetstone (whetstoneprep.com) is an independent, founder-run exam preparation and credential-tracking service for clinicians. By using the site or buying anything on it, you agree to these terms, our privacy policy, and our refund policy.

2Independence

Whetstone is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) or any certifying board, and we don’t speak for them. Board and certification names appear only to identify the exams our materials prepare you for; all trademarks belong to their owners.

3What Whetstone is — and isn’t

Whetstone provides study materials, practice questions, eligibility information, and CME tracking tools for clinicians preparing for board exams. It is not medical advice, not legal advice, and not an official source of certification requirements.

We verify requirements against the certifying bodies’ published sources and show the verification date, and we clearly label estimates as estimates — but requirements can change at any time. Always confirm with the certifying board before making decisions that depend on its rules.

4No guarantee of outcomes

We work hard to make our materials accurate and effective, but we do not and cannot guarantee that you will pass any exam, be found eligible for any certification, or achieve any particular score.

5Payments and the founding deposit

The founding-cohort deposit is a one-time $99 charge processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Nothing is ever charged automatically — any further purchase is a separate, explicit choice you make at launch. The deposit is fully refundable before launch and is credited toward the founder price via a personal discount code, as described in the refund policy.

6Acceptable use — including our brightest line

Whetstone content is licensed to you for your own personal, non-commercial exam preparation. Don’t redistribute, resell, scrape, or republish it.

One rule matters above all the others: never submit, solicit, or share recalled examination content — questions or answer details remembered from a real exam — anywhere on Whetstone, including feedback forms and emails to us. We never use recalled content in our materials, we will delete any that reaches us, and repeated attempts to share it end your access without refund. Likewise, don’t use Whetstone to assist you during any live official assessment.

7Our content and yours

The questions, explanations, guides, and tools on Whetstone are our copyrighted work (with cited sources credited to their publishers). The professional data you enter remains yours — see the privacy policy for how to export or delete it. Feedback you send us about the product may be used to improve it.

8Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of Whetstone is limited to the amount you actually paid us. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

9Changes and contact

If these terms change, we update this page and its effective date, and we’ll email you about material changes where we can. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. Questions: hello@whetstoneprep.com.

Draft — pending legal review. We publish our policies ahead of formal legal review so you can read exactly what you’re agreeing to before you pay us. If that review changes anything material, we will update this page and note the change here.
